History Repeatn’ Makes Generous Donation to Vets Following Successful Inaugural Star Wars Day in Northport

On Sunday, May 4th, Northport celebrated its first-ever Star Wars Day, thanks to the efforts of History Repeatn’. The event was a resounding success, and as a result, History Repeatn’ was able to present a generous donation to Vets Out Of The Rough. This contribution will help support the organization’s mission to honor and support Long Island veterans.

On Monday, May 12, 2025, History Repeatn’s Carol Taylor, John Daniello, Peter Gallo, and Jessica Driscoll presented a donation of five-hundred dollars to Vets Out Of The Rough during their weekly Monday Night Program dinner. In addition to their contribution, the History Repeatn’ team also presented a two-hundred dollar donation from SweetArts of Northport. Both donations were made possible by the success of Northport’s first-ever Star Wars Day, organized by History Repeatn’ on Sunday, May 4th.

Kathy Fal of Vets Out Of The Rough expressed gratitude, sharing that the funds will support the organization’s memorial garden project. Set for completion later this summer, the garden will provide a peaceful space for veterans and visitors to honor and remember those who have passed.

We love supporting this charity—they’re local and do so much good,” said Carol Taylor, Co-Founder of History Repeatn’.

A Galaxy Of Fun In Northport Village

It was no surprise that dozens of families gathered along Main Street in Northport Village on Sunday, May 4, 2025, to celebrate Star Wars Day in full force. The Northport-based pop-up event company History Repeatn’ brought the galaxy a little closer to home by hosting two themed events in Northport Village: a family-friendly scavenger hunt in the morning and an adult pub crawl later in the day.

Throughout the day, Main Street came alive with costumed fans of all ages, dressed as iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. The festivities kicked off at the courtyard of Trinity Episcopal Church with the Journey to Jedi Scavenger Hunt, where children and their parents enthusiastically lined up to take part in the scavenger hunt and search store windows for hidden Star Wars characters. Many businesses joined in the festivities, with several offering free goodies courtesy of History Repeatn’.

Local shops showed their Star Wars spirit in creative ways: LICs Ice Cream debuted The Dark Side, a special flavor created just for the occasion, Einstein’s Attic contributed gift cards and giveaways, and SweetArts hosted a canvas painting session featuring R2-D2 and other iconic characters. One of the event highlights included photo opportunities with members of the 501st Legion Empire City Garrison, whose screen-accurate Stormtrooper costumes thrilled attendees.

The sci-fi atmosphere of the day was further amplified by the inclusion of drone footage, made possible by the talented team at Dreamscape Aerials, who expertly captured the day’s events from above.

Proceeds from the family-friendly portion of the day were donated to Vets Out Of The Rough, an organization dedicated to helping Long Island veterans through golf and camaraderie.

We even met visitors who came all the way from Manhattan for this event,” said Pete Gallo, Co-Founder of History Repeatn’, “It’s moving to see such love and loyalty for our vets.

Despite the turn of the weather, the festivities continued for those 21 and over with the afternoon’s Cantina Crawl. Princess Leia herself led this sold-out pub crawl and challenged participants with Star Wars trivia as they made their way to Sand City Brewery, La Porta, Feed & Grain, and Rockin’ Fish, enjoying themed drinks, snacks, and even a few light saber contests along the way.

We’re ecstatic about the outcome of our first May the Fourth event.” said John Daniello, Co-Founder of History Repeatn’. “The event’s popularity was tremendous; not only did we entertain Star Wars fans of all ages, we were able to bring the community together and collaborate with local businesses, all while supporting a local charitable organization. That’s what I call a huge success!
