From Bootleggers to the Founding Fathers: A Spirited Start to 2026

We’ve made some big changes here at History Repeatn’ for 2026, and we can’t wait to share them with you. But before we look ahead, let’s take a quick look back at 2025…

Looking Back

We’ve already mentioned all the amazing events we hosted that led up to October 2025, when we celebrated our first year in business. Later that month, we announced our newest project, the History Straight Up podcast, which officially launched in November.

Hosted by History Repeatn’ co-founders John N. Daniello, Carol Taylor, and Pete Gallo, this weekly mini-cast is an entertaining blend of history and happy hour, all served in under fifteen minutes (mostly).

The first season, which wrapped in December, took listeners on a wild tour of Prohibition-era cocktails, from the Sazerac and Ward 8 to the (dreaded) Mary Pickford. We even capped off the season with a festive Prohibition-themed Christmas special, that explored the dangerous holiday decor of the era and concluded with our hosts reading ‘Twas the Night Before Volstead, a History Straight Up twist on the classic holiday tale.

Listen to all episodes of History Straight Up season one, wherever you get your podcasts or on the HSU site.

Our choice of theme was no coincidence. The Prohibition era tied perfectly into our new collaboration with Huntington Public Library, which hosted our exhibit Shorelines & Speakeasies: Prohibition on Long Island in December. Created by Daniello with research by Taylor, the month-long exhibit commemorated the anniversary of America’s “noble experiment” and explored its cultural, economic, and social impact across Long Island.

Taylor also presented an engaging 75-minute educational program at the library titled Bootleggers, Bathtubs, and the Ban, which complemented the exhibit.

An Historic Year

When the clock struck midnight on January 1st, it marked not only a new year, but also an incredible milestone: the 250th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. Organizations across the nation have looked forward to this year, and so have we!

Outside of History Repeatn’, co-founder John N. Daniello is an accomplished graphic designer. The Huntington Public Library selected him to create a seven-month-long exhibit series and digital companion titled America 250: Celebrating Huntington, NY. The series explores the pivotal events of the nation’s founding and highlights Huntington’s unique place in that story. The first installment is now on display at the library, you can find out more by visiting www.Huntington250Exhibit.com.

See John’s interview about the America250 exhibit on News 12.

We’re also thrilled to confirm that History Repeatn’ will partner once again with the library to present several new educational programs tied to the America 250 series. HR Insiders are always the first to know! Subscribe today so you don’t miss a thing!

Shorelines & Speakeasies is now available as a traveling exhibit for display at libraries and organizations across Suffolk county. Organizations interested in hosting the exhibit or learning more can contact Huntington Public Library for details on availability and scheduling.

250 Years of Drinking

This Friday marks the debut of Season 2 of History Straight Up!

This season, we’re stumbling our way through 250 years of American history and the drinks that got us through it. Each Friday, our hosts will raise a glass to a different moment in the nation’s past and share their signature mix of humor and history. As always, you can find recipes for all of the cocktails from the episodes on the History Straight Up website, so you can sip along at home.

But that’s not all.

By popular demand, History Straight Up is coming to YouTube! Season 2 features an all-new recording studio, and soon you’ll be able to watch full episodes on our brand-new channel, launching later this month. You’ll also be able to find us on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, X, and Bluesky, where we’ll share additional content, recipes, outtakes and more. Subscribe to the HR Insider to be first to know when we go live.

Upcoming Events

As you can see, we’re pretty busy here at History Repeatn’, but that won’t stop us from hosting exciting events in 2026. Some of your favorite events will return in 2026, along with a few new surprises, including a big announcement coming soon.

New Year, New Tagline

When we launched in 2024, our mission was simple, create fun and engaging history-themed events. However, in just over a year, we’ve grown into something even bigger.

Now, we we also produce visually appealing exhibits, research-based articles & content, and a podcast that puts a new twist on learning history…and we do it all in a way that isn’t boring. That’s why we’re embracing a new tagline that sums up everything we do:

We Make History Entertaining!

You may have already seen our new tagline popping up, and we’re excited to continue bringing this rebrand across our platforms in the coming weeks.

Cheers to an exciting new year ahead.
